Ty Fry
After serving 21 years in the United States Navy, Ty returned to Michigan and built a career with Michigan Medicine, where he has worked for over 20 years.
What began as a hobby — turning wood on a lathe — quickly became a passion. Today, he creates handcrafted pens and custom engraved pieces, each one unique.
Whether working with wood or exploring new materials through laser engraving, Ty finds joy in bringing out the natural beauty in every piece. As he says, “the fun never stops.”
Debbie McWilliams Fry
With 40 years in publishing, typography, and photography, Debbie brings a trained eye and thoughtful approach to every project.
Raised around livestock and deeply connected to the industry, her work has reached clients nationwide across a wide range of businesses.
Her style is rooted in simplicity and meaning — creating visual pieces that not only communicate, but resonate. Through both design and photography, she seeks to capture moments, tell stories, and offer quiet reminders of the good in everyday life.
Their Story
Their story began in 1990, during the first Gulf War, through a simple act of support — a mailed newsletter sent to deployed sailors.
Among the many responses received, one stood out.
After an 18 year break, and after life had taken them in different directions, they found their way back to each other.
Today, they continue that journey side by side — creating, building, and sharing their work together as Team Fry Creative.
What started as a simple connection… became a shared life of creating.
Why It Matters
